St. Nicholas Hospital
In the Spring of 1890, four members of the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis arrived in the City of Sheboygan on the Wisconsin shore of Lake Michigan. Shortly thereafter, they began the area’s first hospital and have provided quality, family– and patient-centered healthcare ever since.
St. Nicholas Hospital believes that quality in healthcare is doing the right thing at the right time and doing it well. The hospital is committed to investing in its facilities and equipment to provide the highest quality services with modern technology at a reasonable cost.
St. Nicholas Hospital has continued to expand its services to meet the needs of its growing community while maintaining a commitment to provide a friendly, family-centered environment. The hospital provides on-going treatment for acute illnesses, offers a subacute care unit, and numerous other inpatient and outpatient health services. Emergency care is provided by the area’s first board-certified emergency medicine physicians. In addition, a wide variety of health education classes and outreach programs help members of the community learn more about, take control of and improve their health.
St. Nicholas Hospital has a well-deserved reputation for quality health care and is known for displaying its concern for the total needs of its community. Its mission of healing and philosophy of caring continue to revolve around treating the whole individual—spiritually and emotionally as well as physically.
