HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital is celebrating Good Shepherd Feast Week, May 13-17. A prayer service was held in the peace garden Monday morning kicking off the week of celebration. The Good Shepherd statue was placed in the garden and the new chimes were hung.
“We celebrate our ‘Good Shepherd Feast Week’ following Good Shepherd Sunday. Good Shepherd Sunday occurs on the fourth Sunday in the Easter Season. The name derives from the gospel reading for the day, which is taken from John’s Gospel. In this reading, Christ is described as the ‘Good Shepherd’ who lays down his life for his sheep,” said Lorrie Hayden, co-mission leader.
This week colleagues will celebrate the namesake of the hospital. The mission team will provide education, games, gifts and treats to the colleagues to bring awareness to the celebration.
