Caring Hearts | Healing Minds at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, recently donated activity packets to HSHS Good Shepherd for adult patients.
HSHS St. Anthony’s is a sister facility to HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital through the Hospital Sisters Health System. The hospital had an overabundance of packets and donated several to Good Shepherd for adult patients to stay active during their stay.
“The business systems product line of IT at HSHS St. Anthony's Hospital created the Caring Hearts | Healing Minds project to minister to our adult patient population,” said Nancy Wolf, systems analyst at HSHS St. Anthony's Hospital.
The IT department discovered many adult patients go days without a single visitor and studies indicate when kept occupied, adult patients are less likely to fall or have accidents. The Caring Hearts | Healing Minds project provides activity packets filled with items adult patients can use to occupy their mind while they are healing.
HSHS Good Shepherd would like to thank HSHS St. Anthony’s. The continual passing of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis’ torch runs deep with the HSHS connection and mission of the Sisters started many years ago.
