Why did you choose a career in family medicine?
I was inspired by my mom and my family. My mom is a primary care physician in India. My journey began at home where I used to see my mother working with patients of different age groups. What fascinated me the most was the varied differences amongst her patients considering their different levels of maturity, different sets of diseases, different strengths to bear with illnesses and different treatments given to them. So no matter how experienced you are, there’s always something to learn from the patients. I also took care of my grandmother when she had Alzheimer's disease. This gave me an opportunity to understand the challenges that families face with patients and made me even more passionate, realistic and committed to family medicine so as to comfort all my patients and their families.

What do you enjoy most about being a doctor?
I simply love my job. Being in primary care, I enjoy my relationships with my patients and their families. When patients come back and tell me they are better, it really satisfies me. I welcome intellectual challenges, and I am excited to channel my energy into something meaningful and worthwhile.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to travel and explore new places. I am also very fond of nature and music, and I enjoy hiking and biking outdoors. A recent hobby is learning to fly, and I plan to pursue this to get a pilot's license.

What is something that you want patients to know about you?
My patients matter the most to me. I will go above and beyond to help you.
