Why did you choose a career in pediatrics?

The beautiful smiles that you see on the kids and the sparkle in their eyes...nothing beats that. I have worked with adults when I was doing my training, and nothing beats the sunshine that you see in a kid's eye. I think that's what drove me to pediatrics.

What do you enjoy most about being a doctor?

When I was considering careers, my grandpa, who was a strong-headed guy who wouldn't listen to anybody always listened to his physician. And that's when I decided I might enjoy a career in medicine.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy traveling and visiting nature. My last visit was to Africa, and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching the wildlife in the natural world.

What is something you want your patients to know about you?

I want my patients to know I am straightforward, but that does not mean I am not empathetic or don't listen to them. I will give them all the time in the world.
