HSHS Medical Group Announces Karen Carlson, RN Facilitator, as March Colleague of the Month

HSHS Medical Group is pleased to announce Karen Carlson, RN Facilitator, as their March colleague of the month. Karen is a registered nurse, serving patients at HSHS Medical Group Family Medicine - Mt. Zion, located at 4965 E. Lost Bridge Rd. in Decatur, IL.
 
According to her nominators, Karen has a true servant heart. She goes out of her way to complete extra tasks that make patients and colleagues feel very special, as she looks for ways to bless them. Karen has been known to visit her patients in the hospital or nursing home in her free time. She has also been voted as the number one nurse multiple times in the annual Decatur Herald & Review Readers’ Choice Awards. She received her nurse training from Richland Community College in Decatur, IL. In her free time, she loves to bake and visit warm places.
 
Karen says her mother is her biggest inspiration, having raised five girls alone after the early death of Karen’s father. She is inspired by her mother’s servant heart and strong work ethic. Karen tries to lead by example and hopes her colleagues know how much they mean to her. She takes pride in doing her best to make sure patients can trust her to do whatever needs done to meet their needs.
 
Karen has been part of HSHS Medical Group since it began in 2009, and they would like to thank her for the exceptional service and commitment she offers to her team and patients.
