HSHS Medical Group is pleased to award Carla Norman with our March Colleague of the Month Award. Carla is a facilitator in the laboratory at HSHS Medical Group Priority Care in Springfield, Illinois.
The Colleague of the Month is chosen from nominations submitted by fellow HSHS Medical Group team members. “The Springfield lab tests over 20,000 specimens per month, and Carla has ensured that staffing is met,” her nominator said. “She staffed the lab during recent snow days, leaving her home to ensure the Springfield lab was staffed while other places were closed.”
“My favorite part of my job is knowing that the results I produce are helping providers make informed decisions about patient care,” Carla said. “I do my job to the best of my abilities. We don’t always have a lot of patient interaction in the lab, so it’s important for us to remember that each specimen has a face and that the decisions we make impact real people.”
When Carla isn’t working in the lab, she enjoys spending time with her children and her friends.
