HSHS Medical Group is pleased to award Philippe Shils, PA-C, with our July Provider of the Month Award. Phil is an internal medicine physician assistant at HSHS Medical Group Adult & Geriatric Medicine on North Main in Decatur, Illinois.
The Provider of the Month is chosen from nominations submitted by fellow HSHS Medical Group team members. “We can always count on Phil,” his nominator said. “He is the definition of a team player. He goes way above as a member of our team, stepping in whenever and wherever needed to ensure our patients are cared for.”
When asked what his favorite part of her job is, Phil said, “The interactions with patients and the camaraderie in the hospital and office.” He says, “I listen to every patient with sincere attention and keep in mind that, whereas I have multiple patients in a day, this is a singular and important moment for the people I see.”
During his time away from work Phil enjoys playing Old-Time music on the banjo - sometimes for patients in the office as well.
