HSHS Medical Group Awards Provider of the Month to Jessica Gorsek, FNP-BC

The Provider of the Month is chosen from nominations submitted by fellow HSHS Medical Group team members. “Jessica was a critical care nurse and now is in the provider role,” her nominator said. “You cannot take away from her the nursing side, which has amazed me over five years of working with her. She goes out of her way for any patient in the hospital, whether it’s her patient or not. Jessica touches the life of any patient or family she meets while working at the hospital.”

Her favorite part of her job is seeing her patients’ successes. “Since I work with stroke patients, we see them while they are critically ill and learning to adjust to the loss of many body functions such as walking and talking,” Jessica said. “There is a great sense of joy seeing them confidently functioning when they return for clinic two to three months later with the ability to walk and talk.”

When away from work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, especially her new son Jack, and traveling.
