HSHS Medical Group’s newest “Health Today” episode features Sherry Reid, MD, a neurologist at HSHS Medical Group Multispecialty Care in Decatur, IL. In this episode, viewers will learn more about Dr. Reid’s practice. “As a neurologist, we treat disorders of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Much of what I see is conditions such as dementia, stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, migraines and Parkinson’s disease,” said Dr. Reid.
According to Dr. Reid, “There are many areas of the specialty that I find rewarding. For example, we may be able to give medication to an acute stroke patient and have them walk out of the hospital as if they’ve never had a stroke. There are also those small moments of success when you’ve found a diagnosis for a patient who has been struggling to find one, or developing a treatment plan that improves the quality of someone’s life.”
Dr. Reid earned her medical degree from University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, IL, and completed her neurology residency and EMG/neuromuscular diseases fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Reid is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Academy of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
Dr. Reid has offices at HSHS Medical Group Multispecialty Care - Decatur, located at 1770 E Lake Shore in Decatur, IL, and HSHS Medical Group Neurology Specialty Clinic - Shelbyville, located at 200 S Cedar St in Shelbyville, IL. For referral information, please call (217) 329-1000.
