Meet Your New Family Doctor

Why did you choose a career in family medicine?

I chose a career in family medicine because I really enjoy caring for the family and community unit as a whole. It is very gratifying to care for patients from childhood through the elderly population, as each has its unique rewards and challenges.

What do you enjoy most about being a doctor?

As a doctor, you get to share with your patients some of the most difficult times and the most exciting times, while being a major support to the community we serve. I enjoy most that I get to fully exercise my whole brain every day to help people lead healthier lives. My role as a doctor is always changing throughout the day; it can include being a teacher, physical or emotional healer, scientist, investigator or statistician.

What do you like to do in your free time?

As a new mom finishing my training, I have not found much free time! But I do enjoy spending time with family, being out in nature, listening to live music, enjoying the arts and traveling when we have the opportunity.

What is something that you want patients to know about you?

I feel it is a great honor and privilege to practice medicine. It is especially meaningful to me to return to the community that helped to educate and support me. I hope to give back to the Taylorville community by providing excellent, comprehensive patient care.

Why did you decide to return to the Taylorville area to practice medicine?

I am honored to have the opportunity to practice in my hometown of Taylorville. The community is home to so many talented, hard-working people who will help Taylorville grow and thrive for generations to come, and we are blessed to be a part of it. I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve patients here.
