Why did you choose a career in family medicine?

I chose a career in family medicine in order to work with a variety of patients across the lifespan and to build long-term relationships with my patients!

What do you enjoy most about being a health care provider?

The one thing I enjoy most about being a health care provider is that I get to make a difference in my patients' health on a daily basis. Also, I enjoy watching patients reach their health care goals by implementing simple lifestyle changes.

What is it like returning to a small community for your career?

It is very humbling coming back home to a small community. Living in a small community has a certain feel about it. It's pretty normal for a complete stranger to wave or say hello when you're out in the community.

What do you think growing up in a small community taught you?

Growing up in a small community has taught me to always be kind and always offer a helping hand to others when needed.

Why did you come to Breese instead of going to a larger city?

I wanted to come back to a rural area because providers have the opportunity to take time to become familiar with their patients' medical needs as well as personal needs, creating a long-term relationship.

Are there certain things that you are more concerned about for those living in rural communities or working on farms?

A few things that concern me for those living in a rural community are the availability of health care and helping patients see the advantages of utilizing health care options in their specific area. I also want to help my patients understand the importance of preventive screenings.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family either at family barbecues or baking during the holidays. I enjoy being outdoors whether that is taking my two labrador dogs for walks or helping my fiancé on the farm.

What is something that you want patients to know about you?

I want my patients to know that I always will greet them with a smile and ensure all their questions are answered before they leave.
