Expecting moms can now see their baby at every visit, thanks to the Butterfly iQ ultrasound at HSHS Medical Group Benefi Center for Women in Decatur.

The Butterfly iQ ultrasound is a portable device that connects to an iPad, so expecting patients can see their baby’s development at each appointment. The Butterfly iQ ultrasound has an obstetric setting that allows it to capture high-quality images as well as fetal heart rate. There is no additional charge for this service.

“This new ultrasound technology gives moms and dads the opportunity to see their baby at each visit, so they don’t have to wait for the two or three customary ultrasounds that we usually perform,” said John Hudec, MD, an OB/GYN with HSHS Medical Group Benefi Center for Women. “From a provider standpoint, it gives us the ability to take a quick look at the growing babies at each visit to make sure everything is progressing as it should.”

If you’re looking for an OB/GYN provider or certified nurse midwife, call HSHS Medical Group Benefi Center for Women at 217-872-2400.
