Program Structure


Administrative Fellows report directly to HSHS Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer, David Beach.

The Fellows will spend the first month of the program shadowing senior operational leaders to orient operations of the system and become acquainted with leaders across the system. In the months to follow, fellows will rotate throughout departments in the system completing projects. Rotations provide high-level exposure and hands-on project involvement in the following areas:

• Human Resources

• Quality

• Supply Chain

• Strategy

• Finance

Fellows will have the opportunity to choose or create multiple elective rotations. Opportunities include rotating with the HSHS Medical Group, Prairie Cardiovascular Consultants, legal, risk, IT, and mission.

Although based in the System Services Center, fellows can expect the opportunity to attend local and system board meetings, travel with leaders to locations across the system and attend professional development conferences.

Second Year of System Administrative Fellowship

The second year of the fellowship gives fellows in-depth expertise within a specific area of interest. Based on personal interest and the needs of the organization, fellows identify a focus and work with senior leaders in that area. Second-year placement could be at any of the 15 local hospitals, the HSHS Medical Group, Prairie Cardiovascular Consultants, or at the System Services Center.
