HSHS Holy Family Hospital hosting June Senior Center Lunch and Learn event, focused on Depression
May 30, 2018
(GREENVILLE, IL) – HSHS Holy Family Hospital is hosting their next monthly “Lunch and Learn” event at the Bond County Senior Center on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Bond County Senior Center at 1001 East Harris Avenue, Greenville.
Everyone is welcome as Holly Earley, Licensed Clinical Social Worker at HSHS Holy Family Hospital, discusses signs and symptoms of depression in the elderly, as well as available services in the area to help cope. Earley will provide a free geriatric depression scale screening tool that can help determine depression.
Holy Family Hospital conducts Lunch and Learn events at the Bond County Senior Center on a bi-monthly basis, to provide area senior citizens with helpful information to help improve their health and life. In April, Max Evans, Paramedic and Licensed EMS Instructor, provided an EMS overview, explaining the role of the EMS service in expediting your care and getting you to the hospital. Some helpful tips Evans offered:
-
Always have a medication and allergy list available and up-to-date.
-
Have your medical history on your list, such as heart problems, stroke, high blood pressure, etc.
-
Have a list of your doctor(s) and/or specialist(s).
-
Have these copies in your purse, on the refrigerator, or keep a copy or two that is easily accessible.
-
Be aware of what your health care wishes are in for your life, and share your decisions with your family and physician.
To make a reservation to attend the June 14 Lunch and Learn event at the Bond County Senior Center, please call 664-1465, ext.104, no later than 9 a.m. on June 14.
