Nominate a registered nurse for The DAISY Award
HSHS-WEstern Wisconsin Division hospitals are proud to partner with The DAISY Foundation to honor the compassionate care provided by our extraordinary registered nurses.
The DAISY Award is an international program that honors and celebrates the skillful and compassionate care nurses provide every day. Awards are determined and given locally and are driven by patient and family nominations.
The DAISY Award was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes of California who died from complications of ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, the family deeply appreciated not only the immense clinical skill, but also the enormous compassion shown to Pat and his family by his nurses. When Pat died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very personal way.
By nominating this nurse for his/her compassionate care, exemplifies the kind of nurse that our patients and their families recognize as an outstanding role model.
Please describe a specific situation or story that clearly demonstrates how this nurse made a meaningful difference in your care, as well as how the nurse demonstrated our core values of respect, care, competence and joy.
