Provides resources to expecting moms

HSHS St. Joseph’s and Sacred Heart hospitals are excited to announce a new Maternity onto Motherhood (MOM) program designed to help you and your family navigate the physical, emotional and lifestyle changes that come with parenthood – both as you get ready to welcome a new baby and after you go home from the hospital.
Maria Green, Women and Infants Center director said whether you are a first-time parent or growing your family, this program will provide support and resources you need close to home. “Today’s journey to and through pregnancy and parenthood looks different and we want expecting mothers and their partners to feel safe and connected to community resources,” she said. “Offering this program will provide parents with a map to follow on their personal journey to parenthood.”
The MOM program will provide education on things such as prenatal care coordination, planning for the birth of baby, proper car seat installation, available community resources and lactation consultation. In addition, your MOM coordinator will be your “go-to” person to answer questions, ease your mind and help moms navigate their own changing health during pregnancy and after baby is born.
John Wagner, president and CEO of HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital said having a resource like the MOM program available in the local area will contribute to the health and wellbeing of parents and newborns. “As a husband and father, I know how stressful pregnancy and that first year of your baby’s life can be, so having a MOM coordinator available - even just to talk through things - is a comfort.”
More information about the MOM program is available at To learn more about your birthing options, visit the women's health page on the HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital website or call (715) 717-7666 (7MOM).
