HSHS colleague earns advanced certification
January 14, 2019
Sarah Reiter, advanced practice nurse practitioner in the hospital’s palliative care department, recently earned her Hospice and Palliative Advanced Practice Registered Nurse certification. HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital demonstrates its commitment to safety and quality patient care by supporting continuing education and specialty certification for nurses.
“There is growing respect and recognition of the value and benefit that palliative care can provide in caring for the people in our community who are living with complex chronic illness,” said Reiter. “This certification provides me with validation of the knowledge and skills I possess. It also serves to expand my knowledge and understanding of these complex disease processes and how to best support those who are living with them. My goal is to provide the highest level of care possible to the community I serve and obtaining certification is another tool which helps me to achieve that goal.”
