Who are the Volunteer Partners?

 

The Volunteer Partners of Sacred Heart Hospital, in conjunction with the Volunteer Services Department, provide support for Sacred Heart Hospital’s community health and social functions, help to purchase vital equipment, assist in fundraising events and operate the hospital’s Gift Shop.

All hospital volunteers with 50 hours or more are eligible to be part of the Volunteer Partners. Dues are not required, however donations are greatly appreciated and used to defray expenses for patient projects. Benefits of being a Volunteer Partner include: Board election rights, eligibility to serve on the Board and hold leadership positions, invitations to hospital events, a Volunteer Partners newsletter, the opportunity to attend the Partners of WHA District meetings and annual State conventions.

Activities include: 

  • Spring Open House including recognition of volunteers with milestone years and annual business meeting 

  • Fall luncheon, fundraising events 

  • Gift Shop sales

  • Love-Light event

  • Christmas tea

  • Other hospital projects

Board of Directors

 

A board of elected officers and board members who work together to fulfill the Volunteer Partner’s mission governs the Volunteer Partners. The current board of directors has a combined total of 46 years and has provided 17,000 hours of service. 

  • Last year the Volunteer Partners provided more than 42,000 hours of volunteer service.  

  • For the fiscal year July 1, 2014 - June 30, 2015, the Partners gifted a total of $84,783 which included the following: $25,000 to support The Healing Place: A Center for Life’s Journeys; the colleague Tuition Assistance Grant Program with $5,000; and $54,783 for vital hospital equipment.

The Volunteer Partners are part of the State Partners of WHA (Wisconsin Hospital Association) organization, which is dedicated to supporting healthcare volunteerism at hospital and healthcare facilities through the State. They provide education opportunities, leadership development and healthcare volunteer programming resources to members.
