(EFFINGHAM, IL) – HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital recently honored members of the hospital leadership groups and Medical Staff at its Annual Recognition Social on November 27.  In a change of venue this year, this special event was held at the new HSHS St. Anthony’s Health Center at 900 West Temple Avenue, Building B, to celebrate and introduce the new facility to hospital partners and community. Guests were able to tour the new Convenient Care Clinic and Diagnostic Center, Women’s Wellness Center, Nutrition Services and physician office space before the Health Center opened on December 3.
 
This event is held annually to thank members of the Board of Directors, various hospital committees, and the hospital Medical Staff.  The 2017-18 Annual and Community Benefit Report of Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) Southern Illinois Division (of which St. Anthony’s is a part) was distributed at the event as well. 
 
At the event, Theresa Rutherford, HSHS St. Anthony’s President and CEO, honored board committee members completing their terms of service. These members honored this year were:

  • John Kingery

  • Did Omiyi, MD

  • From the Medical Executive Committee

  • Narinder Arora, MD

  • Ruben Boyajian, MD

  • Jennifer Dust, MD

  • Lana Schmidt, MD

  • Eugene Dust, MD, was honored posthumously for his long-term dedication to his patients and the hospital with the unveiling of one of two benches that will be placed on the hospital and Health Center campuses to honor his memory.

The hospital also honored members of the Medical Staff for their years of service to St. Anthony’s. St. Anthony’s annually recognizes all active members of the Medical Staff celebrating their tenth anniversary and subsequent anniversaries in five-year increments.  Nine members of the Medical Staff were honored this year for their service.  The physicians honored this year were:
