April 5, 2019
(EFFINGHAM, IL) – HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital is offering Safe@Home (by Safe Sitter®), a program designed for students currently in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. This class is scheduled for Saturday, April 27 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the hospital’s Education Center.
Safe@Home is a two-hour program that teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. The program is designed to prepare students for their first steps towards independence.
There is a $15 registration fee for this class. Pre-registration is required, and there are a limited number of openings in this class.
To find out more about this program or to pre-register, contact the hospital’s Community Programs department at 217-347-1529.
