Summer Diabetes Education classes offered by HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital begin in July

(EFFINGHAM, IL) – Managing your diabetes can be a lot to handle. There's so much to learn and many lifestyle adjustments to make. Whether you've just been diagnosed with diabetes or have had diabetes for a long time, the Diabetes Education at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital can support you in managing your diabetes.
St. Anthony’s Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support Program is designed to enhance the skills of those with diabetes in an effort to achieve successful health-related outcomes. The program offers comprehensive, high-quality, multidisciplinary diabetes education for people with Type 1, Type 2, Gestational diabetes, pre-diabetes and secondary forms of diabetes.
This summer, St. Anthony’s is offering these classes through their Diabetes Self-Management Program:

Four-week Comprehensive Diabetes Education Class

Half-day Comprehensive Diabetes Education Class

Carbohydrate Counting and Insulin Class
-
Real World Diabetes Education Follow-up Class.
A Certified Diabetes Educator provides you with practical solutions to make sure you know what to do to stay healthy and reduce the risk of serious complications associated with diabetes such as heart disease, blindness, kidney failure and nerve damage. The program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association as providing high quality diabetes education.
