The Pharmacy Informatics Residency Program at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s has received full accreditation by ASHP. The residency is based out of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois, which is located about 20 miles east of St. Louis. HSHS St. Elizabeth’s is part of a multi-institutional health care system that sponsors 15 hospitals in 14 communities across Illinois and Wisconsin.

HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission- the nation’s preeminent hospital accreditation body. Our hospital provides high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to the St. Louis metropolitan area, Southern Illinois region, and Scott Air Force Base, and is also a training site for the St. Louis University Family Medicine Residency Program and SIUE School of Pharmacy APPE Program.

Our accredited programs have consistently demonstrated quality outcomes that positively impact our patients, their families and the entire community. Plus, the hospital continues to investment to bring outstanding physicians and some of the region’s most advanced specialists and health care services to the area.  Our extensive family of care includes progressive partnerships with the HSHS Medical GroupHSHS Home Care, specialty physicians, and nationally recognized groups such as the Prairie Heart InstituteSSM Health Cardinal Glennon pediatricians, Healogics Wound Care Center, and Telemedicine services.

Application Process

The HSHS PGY-2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency Program participates in the Residency Showcase and Personnel Placement Service (PPS) at ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting. Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to schedule an interview during PPS or visit with the Residency Program Director at of HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

Application Prerequisites

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy academic program

  • Licensed pharmacist, or be eligible for licensure, in the state of Illinois by September 1st

  • Graduate of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program
