(Belleville, IL) – On Saturday, February 18, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in partnership with HSHS Southern Division Hospitals, HSHS Home Care/Hospice Southern Illinois, Prairie Heart Institute and Athletes Advantage, will host a HEALTHY HEARTS EVENT. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at St. Clair Square’s Center Court, next to the sponsored play area on the lower level.
As February is National Heart Health Awareness month, the event will include information on preventative heart health, cardiac services and support with special feature presentations by a Prairie Heart Institute Cardiologist and Sonya Jones, a finalist from the NBC show “The Biggest Loser.”
The event will also offer free glucose, cholesterol (requires fasting), blood pressure and height, weight and body fat screenings, and nutrition information. Guests will then be able to learn about their personal Heart Risk Assessment Score using the screening values collected and talk to clinicians about ways to improve their health.
