March 17, 2017
(Belleville, IL) – To serve our patients and the community, HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital offers a free stroke support group for stroke survivors and their families.
The next meeting will be held Wednesday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the Millennium Room of the hospital, located on the first floor of the Prairie Heart Institute Bldg., at 340 W. Lincoln Street, Belleville.
The upcoming session's topic is “Healthy Eating and Stroke Prevention.” The topic will be presented by a Registered Dietician from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
The goal the support group is to foster a better understanding of stroke recovery, rehabilitation and prevention of recurrent strokes while providing a way for stroke survivors to meet others with similar challenges. In addition, caregivers and family members of stroke patients are offered an open atmosphere for sharing and for supporting each other.
Additional meetings during 2017 include June 7, August 2 and October 4. For more information, call Christy at 618-234-2120, ext. 1519.
