(Belleville, IL)  – To serve our patients and the community, HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital offers a free stroke support group for stroke survivors and their families.

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, February 1 at 2:00 p.m. in the Millennium Room of the hospital, located on the first floor of the Prairie Heart Institute Bldg., at 340 W. Lincoln Street, Belleville.

The upcoming session's topic is “Massage and Healing” and will be presented by Karen Hayden, a licensed Massage Therapist from Concierge Massage and Healing, Inc.

The goal the support group is to foster a better understanding of stroke recovery, rehabilitation and prevention of recurrent strokes while providing a way for stroke survivors to meet others with similar challenges. In addition, caregivers and family members of stroke patients are offered an open atmosphere for sharing and for supporting each other.

Additional meetings during 2017 include April 5, June 7, August 2 and October 4. For more information, call Christy at 618-234-2120, ext. 1519.
