Giving blood is critical to ensure an adequate supply to meet patient needs during this Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the normal utilization needs of hospitals, in general. HSHS St. Francis Hospital, in conjunction with Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC), is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in MVRBC’s bloodmobile, which will be parked in the hospital’s parking lot at 1215 Franciscan Drive, Litchfield.

All donors MUST make an appointment; no walk-ins will be allowed. To schedule a donation time, call 800-747-5401 or log on to www.bloodcenter.org and use Sponsor Code: 60456. Per CDC guidelines, all donors will be required to wear a face covering or mask and present a photo ID.

All donors will receive a voucher for a $5 gift card.

A blood donor can give every eight weeks, or up to six times a year. All those age 17 and up (or 16 with a signed parental permission form) who weigh at least 110 lbs. and are in general good health meet the basic eligibility requirements for blood donation. A full list of donor eligibility guidelines may be found at www.bloodcenter.org.
