HSHS St. Francis Hospital Offers Online Stop Smoking Class
May 14, 2019
HSHS St. Francis Hospital is offering an online stop smoking class through Bridget Rolens, mind-body health services educator at HSHS St. Francis Hospital. The online classes will be held every Monday, July 8, through Aug. 12 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Quitting smoking is not about just breaking a “bad habit.” It is about changing your life so cigarettes are no longer a part of it. This six-week support group program “Stop Smoking ... Start Living” is based on a model developed by Yale University using the practice of mindfulness to meet and overcome cravings for cigarettes. Participants are supported by a wellness coach and classmates as they move through the six-week program toward a smoke-free life. Registration deadline is Friday, July 5, and the suggested donation is $60. Individuals may contact Rolens at (217)544-5483 or bridget.rolens@hshs.org to register for the class.
