The HSHS St. Francis Foundation Leadership Council and its agriculture committee delivered 60 healthy box lunches to area farmers Friday, May 21. The group delivers the lunches twice per year, once during spring planting, and once during harvest season. Friday’s lunch distribution was held to also honor the feast of St. Isidore, the patron saint of farmers, which is during the month of May. Victory Lane Ford sponsored the cost of the lunches.

Paula Endress, director of philanthropy for HSHS St. Francis Hospital, stated, “We are so grateful to our farmers for all they do and pray for their safety during this spring planting season. We thank Gene and Stephanie Hebenstreit and Victory Lane Ford for their contribution that provided the lunches and to all the volunteers for delivering them. Father Dan Willenborg, hospital chaplain, offered a blessing for the meals prior to the volunteers delivering.”
