Healthy-Steps Testimonials

"I am 91 years old.  I started Healthy Steps in March of 2019.  I reupholster furniture and make lots of jam.  I keep coming to Healthy Steps because it keeps me moving so I can do what I want to do."  – MB
"I have been attending Healthy Steps since January 2018.  I have a health issue that causes muscle stiffness and was interested in something that could improve my range of motion and help me feel better.  Also, walking distances is difficult, so exercise that includes movement is important to me as well.  I have found Bridget to be a warm, knowledgeable, and fun instructor.  We are always told to have fun, stay safe and listen to our bodies.  I have found a lovely group of ladies to get healthier with and I continue to attend.  Personally, my balance has improved and I get a good all over stretch once a week, all with music!"– TE
"I joined Healthy Steps a while back because my neighbors thought it would be good for me in many ways.  First and foremost, it helps me with my balance.  It also connects me with old and new friends.  Our Bridget does a fantastic job of explaining the moves and how they help our well-being.  She makes it fun." – CG

Quitting smoking is not about just breaking a “bad habit.” It is about changing your life so cigarettes are no longer a part of it. Our six-week program “Stop Smoking - Start Living” is based on a model developed by Yale University using the practice of mindfulness to meet and overcome cravings for cigarettes. In a study comparing the mindfulness-based program with the American Lung Association Freedom from Smoking program, those who used mindfulness techniques were twice as likely to quit and had more success at staying quit. You are supported by a wellness coach and your classmates as you move towards a smoke-free life.
