Projects

The PGY2 resident will also complete several rotation and longitudinal projects throughout the year. The major research project will be presented at institutional and statewide / national meetings. The PGY2 program is affiliated with SIU School of Medicine as the resident rounds with the SIU Infectious Diseases consult service. As an affiliation with SIUe School of Pharmacy, the resident will have the opportunity to complete a Teaching Curriculum, give lectures, network with other area residents and precept pharmacy students.

Staffing

PGY2 residents are required to complete the following staffing requirements:

  • Two weekend emergency department shifts per month 

  • Two weeknights per month (clinical shift)

  • One major and one minor holiday
