Phase II Rehab

 
Phase II is a maintenance exercise program for patients who have been discharged from the hospital. The group meets three days a week for 12 weeks. 
 

Phase III Rehab

 

This maintenance exercise program is for patients who:

  • have just completed Phase II cardiac rehabilitation
  • have known heart disease or risk factors for heart disease
  • have been referred by their physician

Patients in this medically supervised program receive an exercise prescription. They have the opportunity to improve or maintain their cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, muscle strength and endurance. 

Phase III classes are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30 am; 9 am; 10:30 am; 12:30 pm; 2:30 pm; and 4-6 pm.

Stay Fit Exercise Program

 

This program is for individuals interested in beginning an exercise program. The classes meet in the Cardiac Rehab facility at the Prairie Heart Institute. All activity is supervised by an exercise specialist/physiologist.

Each participant’s medical history is reviewed so an appropriate exercise prescription can be developed to help meet the individual’s fitness needs.
 
Stay Fit classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 a.m.; 9 a.m.; 10:30 a.m.; 12:15 p.m.; 1:30 p.m.; and 4 - 6 p.m. *Optional: Saturday 8-10 a.m.

Ornish Lifestyle Medicine™ program

 

Prairie Cardiovascular Consultants is now offering the Ornish Lifestyle Medicine™ program at FitClub South in Springfield for individuals who have had a heart event. This program integrates nutrition, stress management, group support and fitness to reverse the progression of heart disease.
