In lieu of their annual fundraising gala, HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation will be hosting a golf classic on Friday, August 27 at Bent Oak Golf Course in Breese. A rain date is set for September 17.

The golf event will consist of an 8 a.m. flight and a 1 p.m. flight. Golfers will receive a boxed lunch/dinner and four complimentary drink tickets. Additionally, golfers can participate in mulligans, on-course contests, a golf ball drop and more activities.

As a fundraising event, costs of the golf classic will be underwritten by sponsors who support the hospital and its health care initiatives. Emily Wilson, major gifts officer for the HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, shared, “Donors play an integral role in enhancing the care St. Joseph’s Hospital provides to our patients and community each year. For example, funds have been used to support our local Friends Van, which provides transportation for area residents to medical appointments when needed. Funds have also been used to purchase equipment, such as urology equipment for clinical and surgical procedures, a mini C-arm mobile fluoroscope to provide high imaging quality with less radiation while increasing efficiency during surgical procedures, and more,” she explained.

This year, proceeds from the tournament will be used to purchase state-of-the-art ultrasound technology which will better support members of the hospital’s anesthesia and surgical services team in effectively placing nerve blocks for improved pain control. In addition, this equipment will allow surgical team members to bring new and different surgical procedures to St. Joseph’s Hospital, supporting the hospital’s efforts to keep highly specialized care close to home.

“We invite anyone interested in supporting our community hospital to consider sponsoring or participating in our golf event,” said Wilson.

Thank you for the overwhelming support for HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation Golf Classic! At this time, the tournament is full. If you would like to support this event, please purchase Golf Ball Drop tickets or make a general donation
