March 4, 2021
HSHS St. Joseph's Friends Van service to resume with COVID-19 guidelines in place.
The Friends Van service offered by HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese has resumed with specific guidelines in place to keep passengers safe. The van will run five days a week, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Special provisions are in place to ensure safety during this time:
- The van will be limited to one rider at a time.
- Rides will be offered for healthcare-related needs only. Rides for personal errands will not be offered at this time.
- Riders must wear a mask.
- Riders will be screened before entering the shuttle (temperatures will be taken, and riders will be asked the COVID-19 symptom questions.)
“We are excited to be able to offer this service while keeping our passengers safe,” shared Chris Klay, president and CEO. “Many of our community members find it convenient to have the Friends Van as a transportation option, and we look forward to when we can offer the full range of services as we did prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese will continue to evaluate the program on an ongoing basis and adjust safety protocols as needed.
There is no cost to use the Friends Van service. For more information or to schedule a ride, call 618-651-2788.
