Breese, IL – HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation in Breese has joined the global Giving Tuesday effort and asks the community to consider donating to HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital on this day of giving.
“Our donors are extremely important in helping us provide quality health care close to come,” said Amy Liefer, Foundation Director for HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation. “Giving Tuesday is a great opportunity to support community health.”
Giving Tuesday represents a global day dedicated to giving back. On the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, charities, families, businesses, community centers and students around the world come together to celebrate generosity and helping others. Giving Tuesday is held annually after the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate to improve their local communities and give back in impactful ways to charities and other causes they support.
Financial contributions are vital to the healing ministry of St. Joseph’s Hospital. The HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation was established to advance the mission of the hospital to provide health care to all and carry the hospital’s values and traditions for future generations.  By giving to the local foundation, you can be assured that your donation is making a difference for patients, their families, and the community.
As a nonprofit hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese relies on contributions to provide health care services to Breese and the surrounding communities.  The HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation is wrapping up its first capital campaign in many years with a goal of raising $1 million. The capital campaign is in conjunction with the opening of the new outpatient surgery center and will allow the hospital to provide the following improvements in addition to the surgery center expansion:

  • Emergency Department Renovations – This renovation will add a reception area to the Emergency Department and provide updated interior renovations throughout the department.

  • 3D Mammography Technology – 3D mammography is now the standard in breast health and will keep advanced technology close to home.

  • Complete Renovation of Inpatient Rooms – This renovation will offer private, modern accommodations for patients and their families.

  • Digital Fluoroscopic Imaging Room – This state-of-the-art technology offers physicians “movie-like”, digital x-ray results while examining deep tissue and organs.

  • C-Arm Attachment – Physicians will be able to access immediate radiographic imaging results during surgical, orthopedic, critical and emergency care procedures with this new imaging technology.

  • Meditation Garden – In the spirit of St. Francis, this garden will offer patients and visitors a tranquil place to reflect while in the hospital’s care.
