On October 4, people all over the world celebrate the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals and of Hospital Sisters Health System. In remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures, it’s become customary in many places to hold a special Blessing of the Animals ceremony. HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital’s in Breese and Highland are happy to honor that tradition and invite the community and their pets to a Blessing of Animals ceremony.
HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese will host Blessing of the Animals on the walking track near the HealthPlex on Sunday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m.
HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland will host Blessing of the Animals in the hospital’s Franciscan Healing Garden on Sunday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m.
Pets of all kinds—and their people—are welcome! Donations will be gratefully accepted for either the Clinton County Humane Society or Highland Animal Shelter, depending on the location you attend.
