August 27, 2019
(Breese, Greenville, Highland, Illinois) – HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospitals in Breese and Highland and HSHS Holy Family in Greenville are educating through a new online Diabetes Support Group.
“We are pleased to offer an online Diabetes Support group. Our hope for the Facebook group is to provide an open and interactive way to communicate with our diabetes educators to offer continual emotional and social support to those with diabetes in our community,” shared Megan Stanley, RN, BSN, diabetes nurse educator. “We understand that with diabetes the choices you make each day effect how you feel both today and down the road. With the online support group, we want to provide resources that will assist you in making the best choices for your health and well-being.”
The overall goal of the Facebook support group is to foster a better understanding of diabetes and to broaden the reach to educate patients in the community.
By joining the Facebook group members will be able to engage with others going through the same journey. In addition, members will learn more about managing diabetes and find out about helpful resources.
