HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese is pleased to introduce physical therapist Meaghan Weedon, DPT, and physical therapy assistant Julie Varel, PTA, to the residents of New Baden and surrounding communities. Weedon and Varel currently see rehab patients in the hospital’s New Baden Outpatient Services Center at 211 East Hanover, which is across South Third Street from the New Baden Post Office.
Weedon, a physical therapist, received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Mo., in 2012. She has served the hospital’s PT patients for the last five years and specializes in orthopedics with a special interest in biomechanics.
Varel graduated in 2013 from the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Ill. She has worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Physical Therapy department for 3 years.
Physical Therapy appointments are available in New Baden with a provider’s referral on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Tuesdays between 8 a.m. and noon. New Baden Physical Therapy is closed on Thursdays. Call (618) 588-7000 to schedule a physical therapy appointment.
St. Joseph’s Hospital outpatient lab and x-ray services are also available at the New Baden facility. Walk-in lab and x-ray is offered between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with a provider’s referral.
HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital also offers 1-on-1 physical therapy by appointment at the Carlyle Immediate Care facility, and a comprehensive range of rehab services including physical, occupational, aquatic, and speech therapies at the hospital’s HealthPlex north of the hospital on Jamestown Road. Audiology services are available by appointment near the Registration entrance on the hospital’s main campus.
