January 4, 2017
Rita Pierce of Trenton had an unexpected surprise this Christmas – her ticket was drawn for the 38-inch by 55-inch pastel cross-stitched baby quilt on the Dec. 21 raffle sponsored by the Auxiliary at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. Also on the raffle was a 90-inch by 111-inch pieced red, green and white Christmas Wreath quilt won by Kim Hemker of Germantown. Tickets are now on sale at $1 each or six/$5 in the hospital Gift Shop for a 90-inch by 109-inch mauve and blue 20-block quilt in an eight-pointed star pattern and a 34-inch by 41-inch cross-stitched alphabet quilt in pastels on a white background. Both quilts are hanging across from the Gift Shop near the hospital Information Desk; the drawing is Monday, March 20. In addition, a silent auction quilt is in the Cafeteria Hallway with bids due by 3 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays and quilts of various sizes are for sale in the Gift Shop. The Gift Shop additionally stocks used books, seasonal and other merchandise and used books are for sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in the Cafeteria Hallway except for holidays, hospital and/or Auxiliary events. The Auxiliary’s next major event is the annual used book sale Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 23-26, at the Breese American Legion. For more information, contact 526-5351 or judy.schrage@hshs.org.
