What is an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?


EAP is a voluntary, no cost, confidential counseling assessment and referral service for the employees of companies enrolled in HSHS St. Joseph's Employee Assistance Program. 

EAP is confidential.

Information shared with our EAP counselors will be treated as confidential and will not be disclosed without written consent except as required by law.

Resources & Services


EAP is designed to provide problem assessment, support, and referrals to available resources. These services are intended to help with personal and work concerns, such as:

  • Marital and relationship

  • Depression and emotional health

  • Grief and loss

  • Life transitions

  • Stress management

  • Family and parenting

  • Work-related issues

  • Weight management

  • Alcohol, drug (nicotine) and other addictive behaviors

  • Basic financial and budgeting

Workplace Presentations



The EAP team is able to come to the workplace to offer group education or wellness-related presentations, such as:

  • Resiliency in the workplace

  • Healthy communication in the workplace

  • Stress management

  • Critical Incident Stress Management Services are available to companies that want to offer support services to their employees after they have experienced a traumatic event.

How Do I Access EAP?


EAP is offered via LE Phillips - Libertas Treatment Center, a service of HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital. To better serve our clients we offer services in Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire with professional counselors. All company employees and members of their household are eligible for services.

Participation in EAP can be initiated by the employee, a member of the employee's household or at the recommendation of the employee's supervisors should work performance be affected. This service is confidential and will not become part of your personnel record without your request or permission.
