Cardiac and Stroke Screening
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States. Fortunately, it is highly preventable. Prevention begins with knowledge of your individual risk factors. That's why HSHS Sacred Heart and St. Joseph's Hospitals offer a free cardiac and stroke screening event twice a year, providing you with the information you need to make the necessary lifestyle changes to reduce your risk for heart disease and stroke. Screenings are held at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
The screening is private and confidential and includes blood work for glucose, HDL and total cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index, heart rhythm assessment, carotid bruits assessments and diabetes risk assessment. After the screening, our health care professionals discuss the results with you and how you can reduce your risk for heart disease and stroke.
