In lieu of their annual fundraising gala, HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation will be hosting a virtual wine tasting event in June 2021.

The Sip, Savor & Support virtual wine tasting event will be held Saturday, June 26 at 6 p.m. via Zoom to raise funds to support health care initiatives at St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland. The Sip, Savor & Support event will allow community members to host small gatherings and join others virtually for a one-hour Tasting experience via Zoom. The Tasting will be led by Michael Bottigliero, co-founder, president and lead sommelier of Bottles Nation, a leader in wine tastings nationwide. Wine packages for sponsors and participants will be directly shipped to their home. Registration is now open online at, with the deadline to purchase packages of June 9.

The Tasting Experience package is $300 and will serve two to four people. Each Tasting Experience Package includes four bottles of wine and a charcuterie board. The wines of the world that will be discussed during the event and shipped to the home are:

  • Spanish Cava
  • New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc
  • Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
  • Argentinian Malbec

The charcuterie board included in the package will be prepared by Korte Meat Processing of Highland. Each 10" x 10" Boos Block board includes prosciutto ham, smoked salmon, hard salami, summer sausage, sharp cheddar, cave-aged heritage cheese, gouda cheese, cream cheese, feta-stuffed olives, grapes, mixed nuts and bagel crisps.

The charcuterie boards may be picked up in person from Korte Meat Processing, at 810 Deal Street in Highland during these dates/times:

  • June 26 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“We are excited to invite everyone to join us for this virtual event that allows for a safe, enjoyable evening while supporting local care for our community,” said John Ludwig, president and CEO of HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland. “Proceeds from this event will be used to support surgical equipment enhancements, including the purchase of lifesaving equipment for patients with digestive issues.”

Sponsorship Opportunities
Supporting the efforts of the HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation is a way businesses, residents and community leaders can support the continued health of the community and promote its economic strength for years to come. As part of Hospital Sisters Health System, HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Mission is to reveal and embody Christ’s healing love for all people through its high quality Franciscan health care ministry.

As a fundraising event, costs of the virtual wine tasting will be underwritten by sponsors who support the hospital and its health care initiatives. Emily Wilson, major gifts officer for the HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, shared, “During the past 15 years, St. Joseph's Foundation fundraising events have raised more than $900,000, funding many life-changing initiatives. For example, gala funds have been used to support our local Friends Van, which provides transportation for area residents to medical appointments when needed. Funds have also been used to purchase equipment, such as surgical dentistry equipment to repair palates in young children,” she explained. “We invite anyone interested in supporting our community hospital to consider sponsoring or participating in our Sip, Savor & Support virtual wine tasting event.”

Area residents and community advocates who would like to become a sponsor for the Sip, Savor & Support virtual wine tasting event can download a sponsorship form at
