HSHS St. Mary’s Celebrates the Feast of St. Francis With a Blessing of the Animals

HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital will host a blessing of the animals on Thursday, October 5 at 5:30 p.m. in honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The service will take place at the St. Mary’s Hospital Cancer Care Center Healing Garden, 1990 E. Lake Shore Drive, Decatur, Ill. Father Nick Husain will perform the blessing during a brief ceremony.
Bring your pet for a blessing in honor of St. Francis, patron saint of animals. The event is free and open to the public. All properly restrained pets are welcome.
We also ask that you bring a donation of dog and/or cat food for distribution to a local shelter.
