Health Insurance Marketplace

Uninsured Americans are able to use the Health Insurance Marketplace (commonly known as Obamacare) to find insurance that is affordable and meets their unique health care needs. 

The Insurance Marketplace allows people to compare prices and shop for health insurance online or by phone. The information about each insurance plan is provided in easy to-understand language. All insurance plans have to show the costs and what is covered in simple language with no fine print.

Open enrollment for the exchange occurs annually each November through January, or when an individual has a qualifying life event change. HSHS St. Mary's Hospital hosts enrollment opportunties at the hospital during the annual open enrollment period.

If you already have insurance through the Health Marketplace, you will be automatically enrolled in the same plan with same tax credit and financial help. Rates and benefits may have changed so we encourage you to go to the Get Covered Illinois website to confirm best options for you.
