Adult Inpatient Service

HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital's Adult Inpatient Service provides a means of stabilization, evaluation and treatment for people who are 18 years or older. Our experienced and compassionate behavioral professionals treat patients with disorders of thought and disturbances in behavior with the purpose of promoting stabilization and return to the community. Our general adult program is for those who require inpatient care for behavioral health issues.

In our care setting, treatment plans are individualized for the specific needs of patients. Treatment programming is a balance between group treatments and rest. Both are necessary to encourage recovery. Treatments often include therapy, occupational and recreational therapy, and medication if needed. Since mental health issues often impact the entire family, we encourage family members to actively participate in the patient’s care.
