In our newly renovated vascular lab at HSHS St. Mary’s, we treat peripheral arterial disease, a disease that causes plaque buildup in arteries throughout the body. Heart Services

St. Mary’s cardiac catheterization lab is digitally connected to the Prairie Heart Institute in Springfield. If a problem is found during the catheterization, interventional cardiology procedures are performed at St. Mary’s Hospital by experienced Prairie interventional cardiologists.

Prairie physicians also perform electrophysiology procedures at St. Mary’s Hospital to diagnose and treat arrhythmias (heartbeat disorders).

St. Mary’s newly-renovated vascular lab is used to treat certain conditions of the veins and arteries. The recent upgrades allow St. Mary’s physicians to better care for patients suffering from those effects and patients often leave the hospital already feeling a difference in blood flow.

The hospital's team of experts can treat conditions such as Carotid Artery Disease, Peripheral Arterial Disease among others. These conditions can be life threatening, seeking out care as soon as possible is important.
