We put our hearts into healing yours

Just like he helped Maryanne, Prairie Heart interventional cardiologist Dr. Amit Dande is ready to care for you, along with other Prairie Heart providers on their talented team of experts.

Investing in your vascular care

At Prairie Heart Institute at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital, we put our hearts into treating you with brilliant technology. In our newly renovated vascular lab at HSHS St. Mary’s, we treat peripheral arterial disease, a disease that causes plaque buildup in arteries throughout the body. Recent upgrades allow St. Mary’s physicians to better care for patients suffering from those effects and patients often leave the hospital already feeling the difference in increased blood flow, giving them immediate relief from discomfort.  It’s an investment we’ve made for you.

Heart Services

St. Mary’s cardiac catheterization lab is digitally connected to the Prairie Heart Institute in Springfield. If a problem is found during the catheterization, interventional cardiology procedures are performed at St. Mary’s Hospital by experienced Prairie interventional cardiologists.

Prairie physicians also perform electrophysiology procedures at St. Mary’s Hospital to diagnose and treat arrhythmias (heartbeat disorders).

When it comes to recovery, St. Mary's Hospital's cardiopulmonary rehab is second to none.
