Services Provided 


•  Transportation and escort for medical appointments and shopping

•  Shopping for persons no longer able to leave home

•  Minor home repairs

•  Limited respite care for up to 3 hours, once a week

•  Caring companionship telephone calls

•  Support rather than care

Service Limits  

  • Volunteers do not transfer or transport persons in wheelchairs

  • Volunteers do not administer medication

  • Volunteers do not perform personal care services

  • Volunteers do not provide services on a daily basis


When to Call  


•  People who are 55 and older

•  Family members, friends or neighbors of someone in need

•  Social service agencies, hospitals, doctors, and other medical facilities


How to Request Services  

  • Call the office 217-757-6621 to speak with or leave a message for Kay Alberts, program coordinator or e-mail her.

  • Provide us a specific date, a name and location (address) of where you are going

  • Allow 3 – 4 working days’ time for us to get a volunteer to assist
