Sheboygan – HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital and Prevea Health are pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Garces, MD, as medical director of breast health services.
HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital and Prevea Health work in partnership to provide patients with comprehensive breast health services for cancer and non-cancerous conditions. These services are provided by a multidisciplinary team specializing in breast imaging, surgery and cancer care. As medical director, Dr. Garces leads the team, working to ensure patients continue to receive high-quality breast care that is tailored to their individual needs. He also seeks ways to further develop services and technologies.
“No matter what a person’s breast health need is – a mammogram, breast reconstruction or maybe they found a lump that needs to be addressed – the team at HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital and Prevea Health is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care that is local and close to home,” said Dr. Garces.
In addition to his role as medical director of breast health services, Dr. Garces is a general and breast surgeon. He is fellowship-trained in Surgical Oncology/Breast Cancer Research from the University of Florida and has additional training in general thoracic surgery from the University of Virginia. Dr. Garces is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
