Green Bay, Wis. – HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital in Green Bay, Wis. is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Thomas Huffer as Executive Medical Director.

As Executive Medical Director, Dr. Huffer provides strategic direction, executive leadership and future vision for HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital. He also works in conjunction with the Executive Director of HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital to provide administrative support for the hospital’s quality, safety and patient and family experience strategies.

“I am excited to help HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital achieve its mission to ensure our patients receive excellent care close to home,” said Dr. Huffer. “I hope to work to expand the pediatric services that HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital is able to offer while maintaining its excellent quality of care and patient experience. In this way, children from Green Bay and our surrounding areas will be able to sleep in their own beds at night while they receive specialized pediatric services, and not have to travel out of the area for their care.”

In addition to his role as Executive Medical Director of HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital, Dr. Huffer is a highly-skilled and well-experienced pediatrician. He has been caring for children at HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital partner, Prevea Health, since 1993 – and continues to see patients at the Prevea St. Mary’s Health Center in Green Bay. “I look forward to serving with Dr. Huffer in this new leadership role,” said Heidi Warpinski, Executive Director of HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital and Prevea Pediatrics. “His professional experience and focused passion will help us to build upon the strong foundation of our children’s hospital and help us to develop the system of care throughout the region that delivers high quality care for children and families close to home.”

Dr. Huffer is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree, as well a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in population health and administrative medicine.
